As part of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, The Big Jubilee Lunch is being organised by the Big Lunch, which is part of the Eden Project – The Big Jubilee Lunch will be held on Sunday 3 June 2012
People across the nation are being encouraged to take part and share lunch with neighbours and friends as part of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
If you are thinking about organising a Jubilee Big Lunch here’s some helpful tips to help you get started …
Think about the Venue
Hold your Big Jubilee Lunch in your local park, a garden or even a town square. If you decide to hold your event on your street you may need to apply to your local council for a road closure – so leave plenty of time to arrange this in advance.a
Spread the Word
Get together with friends and neighbours to tell everyone about your Big Jubilee Lunch – create some leaflets or put up some posters in your local community centre, post office or other public building inviting people to get involved.
Food & Drink
There are lots of ways to bring food and drink to the table – you could either all bring a different dish to share or simply bring your own picnic.
Bunting & Decorations
Get everyone involved in providing the decorations – encourage people to make their own bunting – there’s also a great selection available to [buy online].
See if anyone in your party is willing to provide live entertainment such as music, song, dance or a even a performance. Set up your own music system but make sure it’s not too loud and your choice of music appeals to everyone’s taste.
