Catherine and The Queen

Catherine Middleton will join The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh as they commence their Diamond Jubilee UK Royal Tour next week with a visit to the East Midlands.

Thousands of people lined the streets of Leicester on Thursday 8 March, as The Queen embarks on the first date of the Royal UK Tour to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.

The Duchess of Cambridge will travel with The Queen and Prince Philip by train to Leicester, where they will spend the day visiting students and staff at De Montfort University and meet with faith leaders and charity representatives in the City.

A performance dedicated to the splendid diversity of Leicester will be enacted in Magazine Square, where The Queen will be asked to unveil a commemorative plaque.  The Queen will attend a service at Leicester Cathedral, and later watch a Holi Festival performance created to celebrate the coming of spring.

Here at 2012 Queen’s Diamond Jubilee website, we’d love to hear from anyone who is holding a Diamond Jubilee street party, Big Jubilee Lunch or other event to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.  You can include details of your event on our specially designed Street Party Map or contact us directly with details of your event here.

The next date on The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee UK Royal Tour is the 23 March when The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are due to visit Manchester and Salford.  The UK Royal Tour will end on the 25 July with a series of visit in South East England.
