It is anticipated that hundreds of street parties will be held across the nation during The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, which takes place on the 2 – 5 June 2012.
Street parties are a long held British tradition, which first began in the early 20th century. It is estimated that more than one million people participated in Royal Wedding Street Parties to celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in April 2011.
Holding a Diamond Jubilee Street Party is the perfect opportunity to celebrate 60 years of The Queen’s reign with friends and neighbours in a street free of traffic, on a driveway, in your local park or town square.
If you are planning to hold a Diamond Jubilee Street Party we’d love to hear from you.
Send details of your event to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll publish them in our Street Party section along with any images after the event.
