We’re inspired by the BBC’s documentary series ‘The Diamond Queen’ with Andrew Marr, who looks at the life and times of Queen Elizabeth II during her historic 60-year reign.
Through fabulous archive footage and exclusive interviews with members of the Royal Family and key political figures, this historic three-part series superbly documents The Queen’s life from her early childhood, through her accession to the throne, to her role as Head of State and Head of the Commonwealth.
‘The Diamond Queen’ chronicles how Queen Elizabeth II has successfully carried the British Monarchy into the 21st century and includes recordings from her momentous visit to the Republic of Ireland last year as well as visits to the Middle East and the USA. The documentary reveals The Queen’s keen attention to detail in all matters from the preparation of a State Banquet to the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
The final episode promises a wonderful overview of some of the defining moments of The Queen’s reign and looks at how she has managed through the decades.
Don’t miss the last in the series of ‘The Diamond Queen’ on BBC One Monday 20 February 9pm.
The first two episodes are available on BBC iplayer.
