The Queen Visits Merseyside

The Queen visited New Brighton, Merseyside on Thursday 1 December 2011 to unveil a commemorative plaque at the Floral Pavilion and Conference Centre the flagship project in New Brighton’s long awaited regeneration.

Queen Elizabeth II accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh were met by the Lord Lieutenant Dame Lorna Muirhead on a platform at Lime Street Railway Station in Liverpool on their start their visit to Merseyside.

As part of the day long visit, which included a visit to the new Museum of Liverpool, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh enjoyed a performance in the theatre by students of St. Mary’s Catholic College in Wallasey, and met guests in the Panoramic Lounge.
